"The Courage to Refuse Normalized Injustice" at the Upper Delaware Unitarian Universalist Fellowship on March 1st

Krista Haley-Rue Esq.NARROWSBURG -  Krista Haley Rue, a student at Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary and recovering lawyer seeking new avenues for social justice, will reflect on the moral contradictions shaping public life at the Sunday, March 1st meeting of the Upper Delaware Unitarian Universalist Fellowship. The service will be conducted in-person in Room 102 of the Narrowsburg Union, 7 Erie Avenue, Narrowsburg, New York.

Drawing on voices such as contemporary authors and theologians, and engaging ideas both within and beyond the Presbyterian tradition, she explores how injustice becomes normalized and how spiritual resistance begins with refusing dehumanization, practicing proximity, and managing fear. Grounded in a deep commitment to human dignity, the sermon invites listeners to reclaim moral sanity through everyday courage, building beloved community through practical resistance, stubborn compassion, and consistent justice.

Sunday morning services of the UDUUF are held in person at 10:15 AM in the Narrowsburg Union, 7 Erie Ave., Room 102, Narrowsburg, NY 12764, and live-streamed on Zoom (see link below). Liz Huntington on the depth and scope of yoga

Lotus flowerNARROWSBURG and ONLINE - Yoga teacher Liz Huntington, MFA, RYT-500, a graduate of the American Viniyoga Institute Yoga Therapy Program, will speak at the Sunday, February 15th meeting of the Upper Delaware Unitarian Universalist Fellowship. The service will be conducted in-person in Room 102 of the Narrowsburg Union, 7 Erie Avenue, Narrowsburg, New York.

Liz has been involved in teaching and community education for over 20 years.  Her commitment is always first and foremost to serve the needs of the individuals in her classes and workshops, whatever the topics or subject matter. In Yoga, she finds a comprehensive path of personal discovery –  a process of deepening your connection to the people you love, your joy in the world you live in, and developing a more conscious and loving relationship with yourself.

Liz described her planned remarks at the UDUUF: "As the branches of a large and spreading tree grow from and depend on a common trunk and shared roots for vitality and support, so it is with the living traditions of yoga. I began my formal study of yoga at age 60. As a 21st-century practitioner, I have alighted somewhere in the complex crown of that tree, experiencing and sampling the individualized embodiments of yoga from this teacher, that school, the translations of guru X, the commentaries of scholar Y. As both a teacher and a student, my understanding and practice of yoga continue to unfold as a means of approaching a more intimate and active relationship with what is sacred and moral, and with what it means to be fully human. For more information about this speaker or her program, visit skylark.yoga or email skylarkviniyoga@gmail.com.
